Banff is a very touristic ski resort, like Mayrhofen. The surroundings are much more picturesque. The weather changes every 30 min from sunny to rainy, but it doesn't rain long. 10-15 minutes and then it's over. We hiked all the was up to Sulphur Mountain. It's a 5,5 km steep trail which usually takes around 2 hours to complete. Most people just take a gondola up. We chose the more difficult option and alone meeting friendly hikers on the way up was worth it. The view from the 2,200 m mountain is indescribable. A must-do-thing.
